According to Indonesia’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the average published price of avtur increased from around Rp21,892 per liter in August to Rp23,315 per liter in September 2026. That represents an increase of approximately 6.5%.

In response, the government increased the maximum fuel surcharge that domestic airlines can apply to economy-class tickets.

The previous maximum was 30%. For September 2026, the maximum is now 40% of the applicable upper fare limit.
